Right next to the iconic Pantages Theatre (the site of the first Academy Awards) lies another piece of Hollywood history. Long before the Hollywood Walk of Fame guided millions of tourists past the doors of this historic site, the Frolic Room was a watering hole for many along the “Boulevard of Broken Dreams.”
A definite throwback in an age of “right now” the Frolic Room slows things down, taking you back to an age where the drinks don’t cost you an arm and a leg and the bartender is friendly. Every picture on the wall tells the story of an establishment soaked with a rich history at its foundation. You may even sit exactly where Sinatra sat. If only these walls could talk!

Things I Wish Someone Would Have Told Me….
If you are going to the Pantages Theatre to see a show it’s a great place to grab a drink. Consider grabbing a drink before or after the show. It’s cheaper and you can avoid the lines at the theatre. Unfortunately, there are no ins and outs during intermission, but also consider grabbing a drink while you wait for the traffic to die down following the show. Assuming you aren’t driving of course.
Don’t drink and drive.If you drink, Do Not Drive! It’s not worth it…take an Uber or Lyft instead.
This venue doesn’t have parking. Parking is hard to find in Hollywood so we recommend finding a lot. There are quite a few in the area so use one of those. Don’t leave any valuables in the car. The parking lots are not responsible for things that may get stolen.
This is a very old dive bar but a magnificent piece of Hollywood history.
Great drinks, great prices, great service. If you are looking for something a touch more classy there are a lot of bars within walking distance but the Frolic Room is definitely worth a quick visit.

Your ID. If you want to drink, make sure to bring your ID. The staff are very diligent at checking ID’s. No identification, no drinking.
Cash and Credit Cards are accepted. Prices are pretty cheap here and they do accept credit cards. Make sure to bring cash to listen to music on the amazing jukebox.
A positive attitude and be prepared to have a blast.
